Our goal: make spaces better.

90 DEGREES ART

‌90 Degrees is a commercial art studio, made up of artists and project managers. We take briefs from clients and bring them to life as artworks.

We created 90 Degrees to make a career out of doing what we love.

We design murals and manage creative projects for commercial clients, community organisations and individuals Australia-wide.

Business founder and creative director Daniel Wenn (aka Danny Awes) oversees all creative. He designs and paints a lot of our artworks. Partner Helainie Geor heads up client services / project management and all other business stuff.

We work with a crew of talented and experienced artists to deliver:
• commercial brief-driven mural art projects
• Event activations, design and branding
• community art and graffiti education
• workshops and experiences

From initial conversation to final invoice, we manage everything, ensuring all projects run on time and on budget.

Dan Wenn, Founder & Creative Director.

Dan Wenn (aka Danny Awes) is a Melbourne-based graffiti artist, graphic designer and fine artist. His interest in art started with a love of graffiti which was sparked over three decades ago while riding the train with his mum into Melbourne's CBD and seeing various trackside walls and trains painted by artists in the mid-eighties. Dan credits New York subway graffiti from the seventies and eighties as his biggest influence. He gained his degree in Design with Honours from RMIT University, and subsequently worked as a designer for over 10 years before starting 90 Degrees and carrying out further study at Victorian College of the Arts (VCA).

As 90 Degrees' Creative Director, Dan combines his love of graffiti, design and art and merges all his practices to create artworks that transform spaces and with which he hopes people of all ages and walks of life can connect. His style is diverse and his skill set is varied. His preference is to paint large-scale outdoor murals, so spray paint, rollers and large brushes are his preferred tools. Today, Australian flora and fauna painted in a realistic style form a large part of Dan's commissioned and exhibited work, and he still paints graffiti and street art works for fun.

You can find Dan's work in streets, laneways and parks, on buildings, in restaurants, homes, cafes, hotels, offices, shops, shopping centres and a bunch of publications... all over the world. A selection of Dan's personal work can be viewed on his website.

Helainie Geor, Project Director & Partner.

Helainie Geor, a highly experienced project director, has been a partner at 90 Degrees for four years. She has close to 15 years project management experience in creative industries as well as education. With an undergraduate degree in International studies from UNSW and a Masters from RMIT University (where she also lectured Masters students) at 90 Degrees, Helainie is the one who ensures jobs are on brief, on time and on budget. She is the main point of contact for all major projects as well as community engagement and outreach projects, and works with Dan to ensure all efforts are aligned with defined project outcomes, briefs, goals and timelines.

About the artists.

We’ve worked with a close-knit crew of talented Melbourne artists since 90 Degrees started. Pioneers of the street art and graffiti movements in Australia, we're lucky to call them friends.‌

Our network of artists extends across Australia, New Zealand and the USA. Each artist we work with has a style, skill set and preferences when creating their art. Their skills range from street art to graffiti, stencil art to graphic design, fine art to photography and film. Understanding their strengths helps us select the best artist for each project.
